Participants must organise their own route to the start line at Flotterstone and their own transport back
Public Transport or Car
The Pentland Hills Regional Park website is full of useful info on how to get to Flotterstone.
Car
Marshalls will direct you to parking areas at the Flotterstone inn and at the public carpark. This is a small, easily congested area so ideally considering sharing transport or taking a bus.
- Ideally we’d recommend your support team member is able to drive you to the event and back, carrying your bikes and gear. Please be aware you might not be in a fit state to drive.
- We will be positioned just inside the park walls in Flotterstone at the picnic area opposite the park car park, next to the stream.
Parking will be congested at Flotterstone. If you can avoid bringing your car by sharing with team mates please do so. PAY ATTENTION TO SIGNS OR MARSHALL ADVICE ON PARKING.
Bike [From Edinburgh City Centre]
- The non traffic route will take 1.5 hrs approx (Cargo Canal path to water of Leith route 75 to Balerno then over Maiden’s Cleugh http://www.opencyclemap.org).
- The traffic route up the A702 will take approx 1 hr.

- First Aider that weekend (up to date first aid experience, doctor or nurse)
- General helper on the day (setting up food, water stations, markers)
- Contributor in the run up to the event (home baking, sweet, fruit or water donations welcome or just some free time – even if you are participating)
if you are interested fill out the Run Mama Run volunteer form asap.
